Career

Ankit has an overall experience of more than 16+ years in varied areas of law. He primarily focused on Energy, Regulatory & Policy, Litigation and Dispute Resolution, Corporate and Consumer Law, Competition and Trade Law matters.

He works with some of the largest corporate & public sector clients of the firm in developing an overall legal and commercial strategy. This includes advising promoters, CEO/ CMDs, and board members on Litigation, Property, Commercial, M&A, Corporate Governance and Compliance matters.

He has substantial experience of appearing and conducting cases before various courts, tribunals and quasi-judicial bodies pan India. He has undertaken litigations concerning wide range of subjects including those with PNGRB, CCI (Competition Commission of India), TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India), RERA (Real Estate Regulatory Authority), IRDA (Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority) etc.

 

Energy, Regulatory and Policy

• Rendered strategic legal advice (both pre and post litigation) and drafted pleadings like statement(s) of claims, statement(s) of defense, petitions, replies, rejoinders, and appeals etc.
• Represented oil marketing companies, gas companies, state electricity utilities and power trader(s) in various high stake litigations involving thousands of crores of rupees before various fora including regulators, high court(s) and the supreme court of India.
• Conducted due diligence for dis-investment by public sector undertakings

 

Corporate Laws, Compliance and Contract Advisory

• Advised on drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts, international trade agreements etc.
• Extensive support on performing legal and regulatory compliance reviews, design of compliance policy and programs, corporate dilligence
• Legal due diligence and M&A support to Corporates, Banks and Private Equities

 

Civil and Commercial Litigation

• Assisted clients with formulation of comprehensive and innovative dispute resolution strategies both before and after a dispute arise,
• Rendered legal opinions on wide array of issues in Contract Act, Sales of Goods Act, Transfer of Property Act, Companies Act, Sick Industrial Companies (Special Provisions) Act, Negotiable Instruments Act, Stamp Act, Registration Act etc. and drafted documents for filings in courts,
• Steered, strategized and contested various high stake litigations including civil suits, writ petitions, winding-up petitions, appeals, revisions, reviews and special leave petitions.
