After graduating Tokyo University, worked for several years at an insurance company in Japan and returned to the University for legal studies especially in the field of Maritime Law, Air Law and Insurance Law. Studied laws at Paris University II (1992-1994) and Paris University I (2004-2006) as visiting Scholar. Prof. of Law at Sophia University, Prof. of Law at Tohoku University, Prof. of Law at Seikei University, Counsellor at Law, Hiratsuka & Co.
