Career

Jack joined Olliers in 2023 having previously qualified as a solicitor at a leading firm in the Manchester area. Prior to qualifying as a solicitor in 2020, Jack completed his law degree at Leeds Beckett University and Legal Practice Course at BPP University, Manchester. Jack has previously specialised in motoring law and continues to provide his expertise on motoring cases and providing supervision to junior members of the legal team.

Jack represents clients at all stages of the criminal investigation process, right from the interview stage, on both a legal-aid funded and private basis. Jack is currently undergoing the police station accreditation process and currently represents existing clients at the police station. Jack has developed a keen interest in pre-charge cases and the preparation of Crown Court matters, in particular contested cases being prepared for trial.

Jack has completed the internal pre-charge accreditation programme and also assists senior partners on serious crime cases including historic rape and large-scale fraud allegations

Recent Cases

  • 2024 – ongoing R v NR – representing a client facing two counts of causing death by careless driving
  • 2024 R v KW – no further action taken against client following police interview in respect of alleged breaches of a non-molestation order following carefully drafted account by way of prepared statement
  • 2024 R v KK – failure to provide evidential specimen case discontinued following submission of a defence medical report supporting client’s account that the failure to provide blood was based on the grounds that the client suffered from PTSD
  • 2024 R v AS – community order secured for client following guilty plea to assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The case involved a defendant, a security guard who assaulted a patient who was receiving hospital treatment. The case passed the custody threshold but with effective mitigation, a prison sentence was avoided
  • 2024 – R v NS – successful pre-charge representations to secure NFA for allegations of malicious communications
  • 2023 – R v JS – conditional discharge achieved further to a guilty plea for a domestic violence assault
  • 2023 – R v HN – NFA secured in domestic assault allegation further to early interaction with the police
