Norton Rose Fulbright's 'pragmatic and experienced' fintech group advises clearing banks, financial institutions, challenger banks, start-ups, p2p platforms, payment institutions, investors and foreign governments on all areas of their operations, including AI, smart contracts, blockchain, cryptocurrencies, ICOs and insurtech. The team stands out for its work with fintech companies on the establishment of different platforms including trade, regulatory compliance and blockchain platforms. It also advises on investments and ICOs on behalf of major banks and cryptocurrency platforms. On the regulatory side, the team uses its global reach to advise foreign governments on updating their legislative frameworks in relation to technology developments such as blockchain and cryptocurrencies. Sean Murphy, whose practice covers the development of fintech and corporate transactions in the sector, recently advised The Web 3.0 Technologies Foundation on its 'Polkadot' initial coin offering.
