Scott is a construction, infrastructure, and energy law partner, who specialises in resolving disputes on infrastructure projects.

He has a strong interest in sustainability and actioning the firm’s sustainability strategy.

Scott acts for key industry participants including NZX-listed principals, Australasian contractors, global engineering services firms, and the Government.

He acts on nationally significant infrastructure projects including energy, education, road, rail, sport, and water.

He specialises in the delivery phase of complex infrastructure projects where conflict has arisen. Scott works closely with the project and management teams of clients to provide legal and commercial support and set and implement strategies to resolve conflict and preserve project objectives.

Scott also advises clients involved in formal dispute resolution. The types of disputes Scott has acted on include those relating to variations, extensions of time and delay, disruption, force majeure, risk allocation, non-compliant works, and negligence. Specialising in alternative dispute resolution techniques, he regularly appears in arbitrations as well as in mediations and negotiations for clients.
