Position

Litigation Manager (Public Law)  – specialized in criminal law, white collar crimes, administrative corrupción, money laundry, economic criminal law,  criminal liability, human rights and international law.

Career

Mr. Almánzar has extensive experience in human rights and international criminal law, as well as in civil, commercial, inheritance, real estate and criminal litigation.

He worked as a lawyer (visiting professionals program) at the Inter-American Court of Human Rights (IACHR Court), was appointed to the advisory team of Judge Elizabeth Odio Benito when she assumed her mandate as President of the IACHR Court. He is currently Manager of the Litigation Department (public law) and works with high profile cases.

Since joining the firm he has worked on important academic and research projects. he worked in the analysis and study of the draft for the Dominican Criminal Code in the Commission of Jurists appointed by the Legal Counsel of the Executive Branch in 2021. He actively participates in the Public Patrimony Recovery Team (ERPP) on behalf of the Dominican State for the recovery of assets. In addition to his experience in legal matters, he is also a member of the ERPP.

In addition to his experience in legal matters, Mr. Almánzar has performed functions in the field of international relations, serving as Rapporteur in the Forty-sixth Regular Session of the General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS) and diplomatic liaison during the Presidency pro tempore assumed by the Dominican Republic in the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC). Throughout his career he has served as an analyst for the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Mypimes (MICM), and liaison for the Foreign Trade Center (CEI-RD).

Mr. Almánzar is a Meritorious Son of the province of Santo Domingo, recognized by resolution RES-61/16 of the Municipal Council. He has also been recognized for his career in the Chamber of Deputies of the Dominican Republic and, on several occasions, by the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra for his outstanding achievements and leadership.
