General Manager and Founding Partner.  Specialist in criminal litigation, arbitration and corporate business. He has served as a consultant to the Executive Branch and the National Congress of the Dominican Republic.

 

Career

Mr. López Hilario is a specialist jurist in the main branches of Public and Private Law. He is an accredited arbitrator of the Center for Dispute Resolution of the Chamber of Commerce and Production of Santo Domingo, Santiago and Puerto Plata, respectively.

He has more than 14 years of experience participating in the most relevant  criminal litigation matters in the Dominican Republic, as such as money laundering, administrative, constitutional, tax, customs, real estate, civil and commercial, with excellent results for his clients. from both the public and private sectors. He is a lawyer for important business groups, franchises and public sector entities.

He was appointed by the Legal Consultancy of the Executive Power as Coordinator of the Commission of Jurists that formulated the revision of the Dominican Criminal Code in the year 2021, he was also part of the Commission of Jurists that worked on the recently enacted Law 168-21, Dominican Law of Customs and is currently working on the preparation of the draft regulations for the application of the  Customs Law.

He is part of the Commission that works on the preliminary draft of the Law that seeks to transform the Ministry of the Interior and Police. Jorge Antonio López Hilario is part of the Public Patrimony Recovery Team (ERPP) contracted by the Dominican State to recover assets, funds and values ​​diverted from State assets, formed by Decree 22-21.

He is the author of the work Consolidation of the Constitutional State of Law and its consequences for a healthy administration of justice, an award-winning work published by the FUNGLODE entity in 2008.

He is a graduate and master’s professor at the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM), the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), Universidad Central del Este (UCE) and the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) and a collaborating writer for the main journals specialized in legal sciences in the Dominican Republic.
