José Perdiz has 31 years of experience in the practice of law and is Perdiz de Jesus Advogados founding partner. He works in the areas of civil, administrative and procedural litigation, representing Brazilian and international clients from a wide range of sectors before the Brazilian Higher Courts, notably the Supreme Federal Court (STF), the Superior Court of Justice (STJ), the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), and before the Federal Regional Courts (TRFs) and the Court of Justice of the Federal District (TJ-DF).
He is also one of the leading authorities on Sports Law in Brazil. He was an auditor at the Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD) for years until he was elected, in 2020, to the vice-presidency of the court, position he currently holds. In addition, he is also specialized in Electoral Law. He served as a member of the Special Commission on Electoral Law of the Federal Council of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) from 2013 to 2016 and as the president of the Electoral Commissions of the OAB-DF in the elections for the last three triennia. José is a frequent speaker in events all over Brazil. |
