JOSE ANTONIO A. CERTEZA graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2010 with a degree in Political Science and obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. He was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2017.

In 2016, Mr. Certeza joined SPCMB as a Junior Associate, and is currently a Senior Associate for the Litigation Department. As Senior Associate in the Firm, Mr. Certeza handles trial cases pending before the trial courts and higher courts such as the Court of Appeals, Court of Tax Appeals, Sandiganbayan, and the Supreme Court. He is also extensively involved in the Firm’s Election Law practice, particularly, but not limited to the handling of election campaigns, registration of political parties, election controversies and cases before the COMELEC, and other Electoral Tribunals.

In 2023, Mr. Certeza was appointed as an Investigating Commissioner of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines’ Committee on Bar Discipline. In this role, he resolves cases involving possible violations of the Code of Professional Responsibility, filed against members of the Philippine Bar.
