Carlos Augusto Daniel Neto is a young yet highly respected tax scholar, with an extensive academic production. He was the youngest person to be appointed as a judge from the Federal Administrative Tax Court (CARF), and has a broad experience on administrative tax and customs litigation and a very technical approach to federal tax matters, providing innovative arguments and solutions for strategic cases. Also, he is a trusted advisor on tax and customs matters for national and international companies, being able to quickly and fully comprehend sophisticated operations and provide very accurate evaluations on risks and possible tax outcomes.

Education

Carlos Augusto Daniel Neto holds a law degree from Federal University of Piauí (UFPI, 2011), a LLM in tax law from Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP, 2015), and a PhD in tax law from the University of São Paulo (USP, 2018), currently being a post-doctoral researcher at University of Rio de Janeiro State (UERJ, 2022), having also published over 100 works in tax law field.

He has been teaching in many post-graduation courses and CEDES’ Professional Master course. Also, he is widely known for his periodical articles on CARF’s jurisprudence at Consultor Jurídico website (“Direto do CARF”), with creative and smart insights and thoroughly analysis of complex tax issues.
