Martin Duck
Work Department
Real estate - commercial property
Position
Martin is a partner and head of commercial real estate. He practices in the land development team and works with some of the country’s leading national and regional house builders.
Having first qualified as a chartered surveyor, Martin knows land development inside out meaning clients benefit from his excellent understanding of the development process from the initial identification of land opportunities (which he refers to clients to whenever he can), drafting and negotiating the contract documents, obtaining planning permission through to disposal by plot sales or perhaps trading the site. Having an invaluable insight into his clients’ needs enables Martin to anticipate potential issues or delays and deal with them quickly.
His clients receive clarity and decisiveness in helping sort out legal issues that could derail a deal, such as boundary disputes or restrictive covenants. When problems arise, he provides solutions.
As a partner in the firm Martin is personally involved in all aspects of the work and is able to pick up the phone and provide well-informed advice without delay and help to give his clients a competitive edge in a challenging market.
