Career

Mrs. Fatima J Chowdhury is an Advocate of the Honorable Supreme Court of Bangladesh and a Barrister-at-Law from the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, United Kingdom.  Ms. Chowdhury specializes in the human rights law. She started her career in a renowned human rights NGO in Chittagong. Later she joined the International Crimes Tribunal, Bangladesh as a researcher of crimes against humanity. She also for worked for an international law firm Fox Mandal, Bangladesh before joining U.S. Embassy, Dhaka as Labour Advisor.  After her time with U.S. Embassy, she moved back to practicing human rights law.

She specializes in different aspect of Human Rights law with particular focus on international labour rights, women’ rights, constitutional matters. She is also advising multinational companies in corporate social responsibility and sustainable development goals. In addition to the human rights chapter of the firm, she looks over the legal aid division of Stellar Chambers to support the under-privileged people with necessary legal support. Apart from her legal practices, she also sits in the advisory board of different charitable organizations.
