Career
Focco Lunsingh Scheurleer has over twenty years of experience as an attorney-at-law and advises both lenders and investors on a broad spectrum of matters in the area of banking, finance and business law.
Focco assists financial institutions and market parties in loan and credit facilities for local borrowers and international borrowers. He advises on both structured and syndicated loan facilities as well as capital market transactions (issue of bonds). He also assists clients in preparing collateral documentation. His activities in the area of business law range from advising clients on acquisitions or divestitures of businesses to corporate restructuring. Furthermore, Focco also has ample experience in the field of aviation. He assists clients in the registration and financing of aircrafts and advises on, inter alia, mortgage loans, permits and regulations in this field.
Focco started his career at Trenité Van Doorne in Rotterdam in 1995; at present Simmons & Simmons. In 2000, he switched to VANEPS.
During his career, Focco holds several related positions. He is active as a board member of the Curacao International Financial Services Association (CIFA), he is a part-time lecturer in International Private Law at the University of Curacao (UoC) and he is involved in a number of legislation projects.
