Career

The clients in his portfolio are predominantly large family-run companies as well as their owners and associated family offices. To keep my mind fresh, he also advises a variety of promising young business owners and startups.

The business relationships with his clients, both domestic and international, are often very close. Where others see complex problems, Wouter sees opportunities – opportunities that need to be examined carefully by specialists. He strongly believes that understanding his clients thoroughly is needed to find a solution that best suits that particular company or family.

Besides providing tax advice, Wouter works with a team of financial and legal specialists to offer his clients input, often playing a coordinating role as trusted advisers. An important part of his practice is helping our clients to set up and safeguard their domestic and international privacy and asset protection structures.

His first job as a tax consultant was with a medium-sized firm back in 2001. He spent most of his time working in the ‘niche’ practice of family-run businesses and their owners. In 2007 Wouter set up his own practice. While the emphasis was always on tax consultancy, coordinating the efforts of financial and legal advisers gradually developed into a significant part of his practice.
