Position

Pablo Muelas is the head of the Insurance and Reinsurance practice of the Madrid office. Pablo has extensive experience in regulatory and corporate law in the insurance and reinsurance sector. In addition to his position as the Subdirector of the DGSFP, he has been a national expert in the European Commission. Before joining Hogan Lovells, he was the head of the insurance practice of an important national firm.

Career

He has advised important national and international clients on corporate transactions and strategic alliances. In the regulatory space he has managed and supervised the advice on, among other matters, product design, contract interpretation, insurance and reinsurance distribution, pension plans and funds, Insurtech and new digital developments, requirements to operate in Spain, transnational structures, authorisation procedures, inspections and sanctioning proceedings.
