Career

Ahmet Akgüloğlu is the managing partner of ATG Law Firm and he leads the Intellectual Property practice of the Firm. He is an attorney at law and a registered trademark and patent attorney before the Turkish Patent Institute. Mr Akgüloğlu leads all sub-departments of ATG Law Firm’s IP department – namely, IP litigation, IP prosecution and investigations.

For over 15 years of his experience, he has been advising his clients on IP strategies, complex IP litigation cases, anti-counterfeiting matters as well as IP prosecution work. Ahmet also specializes in domain name disputes, unfair competition law, internet law, IT and media law.

Mr Akgüloğlu has represents many high-profile domestic and international clients. He has extensive experience in all IP matters – including prosecution, litigation, enforcement, dispute resolution, unfair competition and client counselling and strategy in a range of legal actions in Turkey and overseas. Mr Akgüloğlu has carried out numerous litigation proceedings relating to IP law, especially in trademark, design and patent infringement, anti-counterfeiting matters, domain name disputes and unfair competition law. His active role in IP litigation has earned him an incontestable reputation before the Turkish IP courts.

Ahmet routinely advises clients on complex IP-related litigation matters and represents them before all levels of courts in Turkey.

Mr Akgüloğlu has published multiple articles relating to his practice of law. He also acts as a panellist before the National Arbitration Forum in domain name disputes.

He is also an active panelist before the National Arbitration Forum for domain name disputes and he is a member of the Anti-counterfeiting Committee of the International Trademark Association. Ahmet is being selected for WTR 1000 – World’s Leading Trademark Professionals for both Litigation and Prosecution categories for succeeding years.
