Career

Peter de Waal is leading our Corporate Employment practice as a partner since 1 January 2018. Peter started his career at NautaDutilh in 1988 and subsequently was one of the founding partners of the independent law offices of Ploum. Peter has an energetic and creative style of work with over thirty years of experience as an all-round legal advisor in the Dutch and international Corporate market. Peter advises and litigates in particular on individual and collective dismissal, including labour strikes, reorganisation, matters of transfer of businesses, outsourcing and dealing with Works Council. The Legal 500 EMEA 2017 edition favorably refers to Peter’s work as being ‘flexible and customer-focused’.

Education

Peter graduated from the University of Utrecht in Private Law in 1988. He completed the Post-Graduate Programme in Employment Law in 2000, and has completed the Grotius programme in Business and Liability.

Windt Le Grand Leeuwenburgh is particularly active in advising trade unions and assisting with works council matters, including strike actions. Other areas of focus include the employment aspects of the restructuring of corporate operations, as well as contractor relationships.
