Work Department

Emma is an Associate Solicitor in our Sheffield Office. Emma was promoted to Associate in 2020 but has been a well-known and respected name in the South Yorkshire market for over 13 years.

Emma is known for her hands on and caring approach with clients and colleagues. She has had a number of repeat instructions from clients who have been very fortunate to have her in their corner at the hardest of times.  Above and beyond client feedback, Emma has been praised by members of the judiciary for her outcome focused approach to complex and life changing cases.

Emma is admired by her peers in and outside of the team for not only her knowledge but her humility.  She is a prime example of the successes of our lateral hires and a pillar in the Sheffield leadership team.  Emma is an invaluable member of our team and we would be lost without her.
Emma not only goes above and beyond for our clients and colleagues, but also for our community. In the past 12 months Emma has formed relationships with charities providing new families with the early life essentials required. Despite a pandemic and lockdown Emma was able to facilitate the delivery of newborn baby essentials to the Kindness and Co charity to ensure that a new mother and baby did not go without. More recently Emma co-ordinated a team donation and put together a ‘hamper’ with the food required for a whole family throughout the Christmas period, complete with an abundance of gifts for the children; without her generosity a family could have gone without this Christmas.

Position

Emma independently handles complex divorce, finance and children matters. Emma is seen as the team’s “children law” guru due to her wealth of experience and expertise in private children work. Emma is also the lead in Sheffield for our modern families work in surrogacy cases. Emma’s diverse skill set complements the offering across the team.

Emma’s complex work in the past year includes a parental alienation case, findings of facts in children cases, internal relocation applications and Parental Orders following surrogacy.
