Rachel specialises in insurance based property damage claims, with a principal focus on tree root related subsidence. Her area of practice also includes tree impact claims, landslip, heave and flood damage claims. As well as pursuing or defending tree root related recovery actions (both common law and statutory) she provides legal support for mitigating and preventing loss, including Tree Preservation Order applications and injunctions.
Rachel is also experienced in statutory compensation claims under the Coal Mining Subsidence Act and in insurance policy disputes.
She was a Committee Member for the “Hortlink 2” project, a collaboration between Local Authorities and household insurers exploring the effectiveness of tree pruning (as an alternative to tree removal or underpinning) in the urban environment.
