Career

Filip is a junior associate at Polenak Law Firm, supporting the intellectual property group. He graduated with a bachelor of laws (LL.B.) from the University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” in Skopje, Republic of North Macedonia and continued his masters studies in the field of Intellectual Property at Tongji University in Shanghai, PR China, where he obtained his master’s degree (LL.M.) in 2021. Filip gained his professional experience initially as a legal consultant for copyright and related rights for the requirements of a Macedonian film production company. Filip became part of the Polenak Law Firm team as an intern, and then progressed to a trainee, with main focus in the area of intellectual property, where additionally expand his knowledge and experience in the areas of civil law, commercial law, payment order procedures at notary public and forced collection of debts through an enforcement agent, procedures for the destruction of counterfeit goods, administrative procedures and procedures for food and nutritional supplements before competent authorities. After completing his internship at Polenak Law Firm, Filip was employed at the State Office of Industrial Property of the Republic of North Macedonia as a junior associate at the position of a trademark examiner. During this period, he has been involved in numerous working groups at the Office, with special reference to the working group for the harmonization of the Macedonian legislation with the EU acquis in the field of intellectual property. Filip is a licensed industrial property rights agent. He is fluent in English.
