Career

Mathieu earned a Masters Degree in Private and Economic Law in 2002. In 2008, he earned his second Masters in Public Diplomacy and International Relations. During the same year, Mathieu was certified from the Yemen College for Middle Eastern Studies (Sana’a), where he began learning Arabic and Middle Eastern culture. Mathieu Faupin then joined Al Sulaiti Law Firm and was elected in July 2013 as President of the Union des Français de l’Etranger (UFE) until 2018, an association representing the French community in Qatar. Mathieu is a member of the Board of Directors of Maison de la France and of the French Chamber of Commerce in Qatar. He is also an active member of the International Bar Association. Throughout his studies and practice, Mathieu gained extensive experience in the main fields of law, with a particular emphasis on French and Qatari law. Mathieu focuses his practice on international commercial and corporate law. He has also taught law at Université Reims-Champagne-Ardenne and International Relations at the University of Southern California (USC – Los Angeles).
