Career

Athanassios Avgeros joined Avramopoulos & Partners law firm in 2005 and since then has handled the drafting, negotiation and conclusion of international contracts, issued legal opinions (mainly regarding the enforcement of several contractual arrangements in banking, financing and other fields under Greek law),  and oversaw numerous complex due diligence reports (mainly in the area of  merger & acquisition transactions). He has also successfully conducted complex litigation cases involving various civil and labour law matters.

Before joining Avramopoulos & Partners, he worked for twelve years at Simantiras Law Offices, focusing on commercial law, corporate law and property law. From 2003 to present he has been a legal advisor for OFC Aviation Fuel Services S.A. at the Athens International Airport.This entity is responsible for designing, expanding, financing and operating the facilities for receipt, storage and distribution of aviation fuel at the Athens International Airport. In 2010, Athanassios joined the legal department of the

Consignment Deposits and Loans Fund (CDL), supervised by the Greek Ministry of Finance for ten (10) years and has, inter alia recently negotiated the finance agreements signed with the European Investment Bank for the financing of local authorities, on behalf of the CDL.

Athanassios has work experience in France and the UK. After completing his postgraduate studies at Paris II, he joined the Gide Loyrette Noel Law Firm in Paris, as a trainee. In 1989, he served as an in-house lawyer for Granomar, a Geneva-based company, where he mainly dealt with banking and finance matters as well as the arbitration procedure in commodities, such as GAFTA. In 1990, Athanassios became an in-house legal advisor for Olympic Airways. He has been involved in the drafting and reviewing of numerous operative and/or financial agreements. These agreements involved the sale, finance and lease of individual aircraft and fleets, multimillion financing of aircraft under various forms, loan agreements and ground handling agreements, as well as the provision of several services from and/or to third parties, IT license agreements and all issues related to the air industry(including litigation).

He also participated in several working groups under the auspices of the Greek Civil Aviation Authority. Furthermore, he has been the main representative of Olympic Airlines at the Association of European Airlines (AEA) based in Brussels.
