Career

KSB partner Vlastimil Pihera specializes in financial services, capital markets, trust funds and other family property management structures. Under his leadership in recent years KSB has continued to maintain strong positions in the debt capital market as well as in banking and capital market regulation. Vlastimil has assisted in setting up some of the biggest offshore and domestic trust and foundation structures used for estate planning. He has also helped to establish a significant number of philanthropical foundations for private founders in the Czech Republic, which includes assistance in establishing the Vlček Family Foundation, one of the largest philanthropic projects of its kind in the Czech Republic.

Vlastimil has published a number of articles in legal periodicals in the Czech Republic and abroad (Trust & Trustees published by Oxford University Press), and is a co-author of some of the most recognized monographs (e.g. Law of Securities) and law commentaries (e.g. Civil Code and the Act on Banks). He is a member of the Institute of State and Law at the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. In 2019 Vlastimil was awarded an honorary medal for his contribution to Czech legislation.
