Career

Victor Rusu joined RTPR in 2005. Victor has experience in advising international companies with regard to commercial transactions, merger & acquisitions, corporate law, and transactions involving financing and real estate in Romania. He was a member of the team that advised MIRA’s acquisition of CEZ assets in Romania; Societatea Energetică Electrica S.A. on the acquisition of the minority stakes held by Fondul Proprietatea in the company’s energy distribution and supply subsidiaries; Allianz Capital Partners on the acquisition of a 30% stake in E.ON Distributie Romania; Enterprise Investors on the sale of Profi supermarket chain to Mid Europa Partners; Electrica S.A. on its IPO on the Bucharest Stock Exchange and on the London Stock Exchange, the largest IPO on the Romanian market to date and the first primary offering of shares in Romania involving global depositary receipts; First Retail International, a specialist retail property company with a focus on retail warehouse properties in Europe, on the acquisition of a 50% interest in the Romanian retail park portfolio ‘InterCora’; JP Morgan on the issuance by Cable Communications Systems N.V. of EUR 450 million Senior Secured Notes guaranteed by the operational company RCS & RDS S.A., a leading provider of pay TV services in core markets Romania and Hungary; on the privatisation of BCR, Romania’s largest bank; Centrul Medical Unirea (CMU), a leading chain of medical clinics in Romania, on the acquisition of Euroclinic Medical Centers and Euroclinic Hospital, the first private general hospital in Romania, from the insurance company Eureko.

Victor Rusu is fluent in English and Russian and competent in French.

Victor Rusu is a qualified Romanian lawyer, registered with the Bucharest Bar. He is also a member of the National Union of Romanian Bar Associations.

Education

Victor Rusu graduated from the University of Bucharest, Law Faculty in 2005; Victor Rusu also graduated from a Master of Business Law (MBL), University of Bucharest, Faculty of Law in 2006.
