Career
Maria is a member of the Insolvency and Business Recovery team of PwC Legal Services in Greece. Her areas of expertise include Corporate Law, Insolvency Law, Banking Law, Civil Law and general Commercial Law.
Relevant experience
Maria draws her experience from her involvement in a number of projects capturing financial services (including the major institutional banks), manufacturing, construction and FnB.
In particular she advises clients in relation to the below:
• Insolvency and Corporate recovery/turnaround processes.
• Banking Law.
• Management of distressed portfolios (NPL’s).
• Corporate reorganizations/business transformations and restructurings,
• Corporate law advise, including M&A transactions support for distressed and non-distressed assets.
• Corporate Governance framework (review, formulation/drafting of corporate governance codes and policies), especially for public interest and listed companies.
• Civil and Commercial law including contractual and business arrangements and ad-hoc legal advice on business affairs.
Before joining PwC, Maria was a member of the legal services department of National Bank of Greece, Associate of the Law Firm “D.K. Avgitidis & Associates” in the area of Insolvency and Banking Law and in house legal counsel of a major construction company in the area of Public Projects.
