Position

Executive director of EY Law from 2018, Associate Partner, an attorney-at-law. He has been an active member of a number of working groups on legislative changes in the fields of commercial law, insolvency and competition. He is an author of a number of publications in the field of competition, antitrust and commercial law in international and local media. He is registered mediator with the Bulgarian Ministry of Justice and an Arbitrator with the Permanent Court of Arbitration at the DBIHK. He is also the Chair of the specialized committee “Compliance” at the DBIHK and top ranked by leading directories in the fields of EU & Competition Law, Antitrust, Financial and Corporate and Dispute resolution.

Career

Before joining EY Law, Svetlin was Partner in Penkov, Markov and partners, one of the biggest local law firms. He worked for some of the biggest companies in the finance, pharmaceutical industry, automotive sector, heavy industry, food & beverages and retail. Svetlin has complex knowledge and experience in all fields of law, with key expertise is in the area of Corporate and Commercial law, Consumer Law, Competition & Antitrust, M&A, foreign investments, IP and litigation. Svetlin has developed expertise of M&A and complex transactions in a number of cross-border projects involving clients from various countries within or outside the EU.

Ernst & Young Law Partnership advises in merger control cases, abuse of dominant market position, unfair competition matters as well as providing clients with training on staying compliant with competition law. The firm is frequently involved in cross-border matters pertaining to EU law, and actively advises across the IT, retail, banking and financial services sectors, among others. Recently promoted partner Svetlin Adrianov, Yura Mincheva and Irina Yaneva jointly lead the practice.

Among the team changes was the promotion of Rebeka Kleytman to senior manager in July 2023, and the hire of Ana Petrova from the United Bulgarian Bank in October 2022.

Ernst & Young Law Partnership cover a broad scope of work within the banking and finance area, including cross-border financing agreements, completing loan documentation and advising during M&A transactions in the finance sector where the team frequently assist banking clients and financial institutions. Practice head Rebeka Kleytman is well versed in M&A transactions and is supported in the team by Svetlin Adrianov, who often advises on privatisation transactions. Ana Petrova is another key name and is able to draw on her previous experience with the United Bulgarian Bank.
