Career

Jörg Michael advises national and international companies on IT and data protection law, media and copyright law as well as commercial law. Since the beginning of his professional career he has overseen numerous complex projects and proceedings in these areas. His focus lies on drafting and negotiation of contracts as well as enforcement and defence of claims including litigation. He frequently publishes and gives lectures at seminars.

Jörg Michael has been practising for avocado rechtsanwälte since 1999. In 2004 he worked for several months for a major London-based law firm in the fields of corporate finance, media, IP and IT. At the same time he studied law at BBP Law School, London, and after completing his examinations he was admitted as a “Solicitor in England and Wales“ for four years.

Education

Jörg Michael studied law at the Johannes Gutenberg University, Mainz, at the Brunel University, West London and at the BBP Law School, London. He earned his doctorate on a European media law topic under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Dieter Dörr and completed the postgraduate course in media law at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz with the Master of Laws (LL.M.).
