Career

Michael M. Pachinger has worked for SAXINGER since 2003, as a lawyer since 2007 and as a partner since 2010.

He is a lawyer in Wels since 2007, 1998 internship abroad (Brussels), 1998 to 1999 assistant in the European Parliament.

Michael M. Pachinger is an expert in the areas of data protection/IP/IT law and international contract law (English, French, Spanish). He is also a registered European Trademark & Design Attorney.

He advises domestic and foreign companies on intellectual property rights (trademarks, designs, patents, etc.) and has many years of relevant expertise in Privacy, Data Protection, IT, telecommunications, e-commerce, copyright and unfair competition law.

In the field of online data protection, Michael M. Pachinger is one of the first Austrian legal experts to be accredited to assess IT products and IT services in accordance with the EuroPriSe European Privacy Seal. As a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), he is certified according to the only globally recognized data protection diploma, Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E).

Aother major asset of his work is the drafting of contracts, especially in an international context, as well as advising domestic and foreign clients in English, French and Spanish.

In addition to his work as a lawyer, Michael M. Pachinger is lecturer at Universities and Universities of Applied Sciences and teaches at the Lawyers’ Academy. He is founding member and President of the Austrian-Spanish Lawyers’ Association (ÖSJV) and member of IT-LAW.AT, the French-Austrian Chamber of Commerce and the German-Spanish Lawyers’ Association.

Michael M. Pachinger regularly speaks at national and international conferences and publishes on IP & IT, in particular on the delicate subject of data protection on the Internet, online targeting etc. Pachinger is editor of the KODEX data protection and KODEX IP/IT law, editor and author of the handbook “Datenschutz, Recht und Praxis”, co-editor and author of the proven practice guide to GDPR “Datenschutz-Audit”. He regularly publishes articles on current IT and data protection law topics in national and international journals.
