Career
Colin heads up the Dispute Resolution team at Fieldfisher and sits on the firm’s Executive Committee.
The Dispute Resolution team has grown from a modest team in 2013 (turnover £8.4m) to more than 100 fee earners and a turnover of more than £30m in the financial year 2019/20.
As well as presiding over a step change in the value and importance of the team’s work (biggest case now worth circa €6bn), Colin has overseen the recruitment of the largest team of Russian-speaking lawyers in London (30+) and several key partners (Vivien Davies, Stewart Perry, Simon Sloane, Andrew Sanderson, Daniel Hayward, Tracey Wright, James Lappin, Donna Goldsworthy).
As well as leading the team, Colin was the Lead Partner on the internationally important Yukos Finance case (against CMS), where he successfully represented two of five defendants in getting all claims dismissed against them.
He also led on Mavuli Caboose v RP&C (against Taylor Wessing) and Oro Agri v Vivagro (against Powell Gilbert). He currently leads on Astor v Atalaya (against Hogan Lovells) and Profile Partners/Rune Hauge.
