Career
Thomas joined Zacco as an Attorney at Law in 2012. Working primarily with intellectual property rights including trademarks, copyright, design, and patents and, as the Regional Director for Norway & UK, oversees much of the litigation and dispute resolution conducted by Zacco in the region. An experienced litigator, he advises clients on a range of IPR enforcement options, negotiating and drafting contracts, and is considered the ‘go to’ resource in Zacco Norway for issues related to ICT law, unfair competition and marketing law.
Thomas is well known in the region as a capable legal strategist, working with international and domestic clients on how they can leverage their IP rights both within Norway and beyond. He works closely with the local customs agents to help his clients protect themselves against trademark infringements and counterfeit.
In recent years, since becoming Regional Director, Thomas has increasingly taken on a support and mentorship role, using his considerable legal expertise to assist younger and less experienced colleagues with prosecution and litigation advice, and encouraging their professional development.
Thomas received his law degree (Cand. Jur.) from the University of Oslo in 1999, he holds a Bachelor of International Business (BIB) from Oslo University College in 1991. He was admitted to the Norwegian Bar Association in 2000 and received his law practicing certificate in 2002. Thomas has practiced as an attorney over several years in the law firm Storeng, Beck & Due Lund, Grette law firm and the IP consultancy company Bryn Aarflot AS.
Thomas is a member of the Norwegian Bar Association, Norsk Forening for Industriell Rettsbeskyttelse (NIR).
He has been recommended previously for Intellectual Property Law by The Legal 500 EMEA in 2019.
