Career

Per Vegard is an expert in the field of intellectual property rights. He specialises within trademark law, working with some of Norway’s most famous brands to help them develop their branding IP strategy as they seek to protect their rights around the world. An expert in dispute resolution and litigation, he is quickly able to identify the most practical approach to enforcing client rights and his detailed knowledge of corporation and marketing law often forms an integral part of implementing their expansion plans.

Per Vegard joined Zacco in 1993, working as a trademark attorney. Prior to joining, he worked as an examiner at the Trademark and Design Department of the Norwegian Patent Office. He was also engaged in international work with WIPO, as a member of the WIPO expert committee for harmonisation of trademark law. This exposure to the inner workings of IP legislative administration and decision-making has given him detailed insight into how rights can be secured and employed both domestically and within international markets.

Per Vegard graduated with his Law Degree (Cand. Jur) from the University of Oslo in 1988, with copyright law as his elective subject and trademark and patent law as his area of specialisation. He was admitted to the Norwegian Bar in 1997 and is a member of the Norwegian Bar Association, the Association of Norwegian Patent Agents, NIR, AIPPI and INTA.

Per Vegard is regularly acknowledged by the World Trademark Review as a member of their leading WTR 1000 trademark professionals.
