Career

Florence Verhoestraete has practiced IP law since 1994, with a focus on patents, trademarks and unfair competition. She represents clients in the food, consumer goods and life-sciences sectors. She advises on and litigates in relation to intellectual property, contractual and regulatory issues. She is an active member of the firm’s multidisciplinary Life Sciences group.

Florence has published a number of articles on selected topics in the field of IP law and is a regular speaker at seminars.

She joined NautaDutilh in 1994 and was named a partner in January 2004.

Member of the Brussels Bar. She is a member of several international IP associations, i.e. the International Trademark Association (INTA), the Benelux Licensing Executive Society (LES) and Benelux Merken en Modellen vereniging (BMM), and currently serves on the BBM Bulletin’s editorial board.

Education

Florence received her law degree from KU Leuven in 1992. She then studied intellectual property for one year in London and worked in the intellectual property department of Clifford Chance (London) for six months.
