He concentrates on banking and finance and securities matters, project financing, asset-backed and structured finance, energy and oil and gas law. He is member of the Board of Auditors of numerous companies.

He is member of the International Bar Association and a member of the Policy Committee of the BIC since 2005. He has been the chair of the “Securities”  Committee and the “Capital Markets Forum”. He is currently Vice President of the Bar Issues Commission. He has organised many seminars and conferences. He is also Chartered Accountant (Revisore Contabile). Since 1990 he is member of the State Bar of Michigan, International Law Section.



He obtained his Law Degree at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, magna cum laude, in 1981. He attended the “School of Public Administration” in Rome (1981-1982); he followed an introductory course to American Law at the Georgetown University Law School, Washington (1982), and obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) at the University of Michigan Law School in 1983.

The energy and natural resources practice group at Macchi di Cellere Gangemi is active in corporate and M&A, administrative litigation and antitrust. Claudio Visco is the head of the team.
