Virtual Entrepreneurship Conference – Black Swan Ruling – entrepreneurship and the economy under and after the pandemic

Overview

Initially almost ignored or downplayed as an ‘anecdote’, the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) has quickly turned into a pandemic, and brought national hospital systems and infrastructures to the verge of collapse, and sometimes even beyond. Governmental measures taken in response to the pandemic have substantially affected people’s ability to move around, travel and gather, and in many instances populations have been confined to their homes. With many national economies ordered into partial or sometimes even almost total shutdown, trade and economic activities have been substantially disrupted and impaired on a worldwide scale, to such an extent that many are worrying that the long-term effects of the cure might be worse than Covid-19 itself. In this virtual conference, which consists of a series of webinars, we will be looking at the measures taken by governments to support their industries, businesses and entrepreneurs to survive the crisis, and at the short and long-term challenges that specific sectors (including the legal profession) are facing.
