Jon Woodcock, Head of Business Development, CILEX
Jon Woodcock is an experienced engagement and development professional, currently leading Business Development and Employer Engagement at CILEX (the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives). With more than two decades in legal, membership, recruitment/retention and consultancy roles, Jon specialises in building relationships, promoting inclusive growth and supporting accessible legal career pathways.
At CILEX, Jon leads the employer engagement strategy, working closely with law firms, in-house teams, public sector bodies and industry groups. He supports organisations with employee development and future skills planning through qualifications, apprenticeships, professional development, and customised initiatives. Prior to joining CILEX, Jon held senior roles in talent acquisition/development and business consultancy with AMS, Arthur Jackman, and several legal and accountancy firms. He has worked with organisations including Barclays, Nestlé, and multiple nonprofits, delivering training, mentoring and strategic support that consistently drive performance and engagement.
Known for his people-first approach, Jon regularly hosts webinars, roundtables, and peer-learning events that bring professionals together to share insight, explore challenges and generate practical solutions. Recognised as a trusted advisor and collaborative leader, Jon brings curiosity, clarity and energy to every conversation, helping individuals and organisations connect, grow and succeed.
Alex Walker, Senior Associate, Taylor Wessing
Alex is a senior associate in the Private Equity group. He has experience advising private equity houses, their portfolio companies and management teams on cross-border acquisitions, disposals and restructurings.
Alex also advises corporate clients and individuals on mergers and acquisitions, corporate and company law matters.
Drew Winlaw, Partner & Global Large Language Model “LLM” Lead, Simmons & Simmons
Drew leads several multi-disciplinary teams including the LLM team in Solutions, Simmons & Simmons’ 5th International Practice group.
Earlier in Drew’s career he worked in data and scheduling for manufacturing businesses, then a digital workflow business, and then at booking.com in a legal and compliance role. He practised as a commercial lawyer at an international law firm for several years before developing the new profession of legal engineering, further developing that concept as one of the founding partners of Wavelength, which became the world’s first regulated legal engineering firm. In 2019 that business was acquired by Simmons & Simmons, and rebranded as Simmons Wavelength.
His current focus is examining the impact of Large Language Model (LLM) on the business of the firm, and to work with the firm’s clients to manage the risks and to safely explore the opportunities that arise from these technologies.
Catriona Wolfenden, Product and Innovation Director, Weightmans
Catriona is an Equity Partner and Product and Innovation Director at Weightmans LLP. She ensures the delivery of products and innovation aligned to client needs and Weightmans’ strategy. An accidental lawyer, she fell into innovation, growing an award-winning team and was recognised in the 2025 Lawyer Hot 100. With a background in law and knowledge management, she is interested in the skills of future lawyers, especially in an increasingly AI enabled workplace. Alongside her work at Weightmans, Catriona has recently commenced a 3 year Visiting Professorship in the Edge Hill University Business School. As part of this, she is working with the Edge Hill University School of Law and Criminal Justice to enhance applied research and impact in AI, legal tech and digital business. Catriona has been a director of UKLTA (The Legal Tech Association for the UK) and completed a three year term on the Liverpool Enterprise Partnership Professional and Business Services Board. Catriona is a member of UK Research and Innovation Future Leaders Fellowship Panel College.
Catriona has co-authored a book about innovation in law firms, which includes all the practical aspects she wished she had known about at the start of her innovation ‘journey’ (including how long it takes to write a book).
