The Legal 500 hosted its inaugural GC Summit Turkey on 27 September 2018 at Ciragan Palace Kempinski Hotel, Istanbul.

With more than 130 senior in-house counsel in attendance, GC Summit tackled some very important topics that looked at:

• • How responses to anti-corruption and antitrust law are shaping corporate policy

• • The growing popularity of arbitration and best practice for alternative dispute resolution in Turkey

• • How evolving data protection and cyber security obligations and precautions are impacting Turkish businesses
  • Changes in the Turkish M&A space and the role played by in-house lawyers when valuing a deal

We also heard from Alp Sahin, founder and managing partner of Agat Capital & Investment, who shared his expert thoughts and knowledge on the potential impact of the fast-paced advances in technology on businesses in Turkey. Sahin shared some very interesting predictions on how digital disruption is likely to change emerging-market investment trends in the coming five years.
