Event Report
On June 10th, Legal 500 hosted the launch event for the GC Powerlist: Brazil 2025 at the Renaissance Hotel in São Paulo, once again in exclusive partnership with Cescon Barrieu, our longstanding key partner in the country. This flagship publication celebrates the most accomplished and influential in-house lawyers in Brazil, bringing together leading corporate legal professionals to honour their outstanding achievements.
The evening began with opening remarks from Francisco Castro, Research Editor at Legal 500 and editorial lead for the publication. Francisco highlighted the remarkable accomplishments of this year’s honourees and reflected on how the GC Powerlist: Brazil has evolved over the past three years to more accurately reflect the realities of the country’s in-house legal landscape – including, for the first time, a majority of women featured in the publication.
Following this, Alexandre Barreto, Managing Partner at Cescon Barrieu, congratulated the selected lawyers and offered insights into the continued transformation of Brazil’s legal sector. He spoke about how the firm is adapting to meet the changing demands of both the legal community and the broader business environment.
With over 140 guests in attendance, including many of the country’s top corporate legal minds, Legal 500 and Cescon Barrieu once again reaffirmed their commitment to supporting and spotlighting Brazil’s in-house legal talent. As these professionals continue to grow in prominence and strategic importance within their organisations, their achievements deserve – and receive – increasing recognition.
Legal 500 extends its sincere thanks to Cescon Barrieu for their continued partnership, now in its third consecutive year. We are also pleased to announce our return to Brazil on September 11 for the annual GC Summit: Brazil, our premier platform for in-house counsel to exchange ideas, strengthen networks, and explore the pressing legal challenges facing businesses today.
