Position

Luis A. Erize is Of Counsel at Abeledo Gottheil, after serving for years as a Senior Partner and Managing Partner of the firm.

An expert in arbitration and complex litigation, with a particular focus on disputes in the energy and Oil & Gas sector. He has been appointed as an arbitrator on multiple occasions and has litigated before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the American Arbitration Association, and the Arbitration Court of the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange, among others.

Career

He has advised clients in the energy and hydrocarbon sector on regulatory matters, as well as various project financing operations, concession and asset transfers, licenses, tenders, privatizations, and related disputes.

He is the author of various articles published in specialized journals both nationally and internationally.

Additionally, he has been distinguished as a Thought Leader – LACCA approved and recognized as a specialist by Chambers & Partners on numerous occasions in Arbitration, Dispute Resolution, Energy and Oil & Gas, and recommended as a lawyer by Legal 500, among other publications.

Currently, he is a member of the International Bar Association; the Council of the Section on Energy, Environment, Natural Resources and Infrastructure Law (SEERIL); the Public Bar Association of the Federal Capital; and a Consulting Member of the Argentine Council for International Relations (C.A.R.I.).

Furthermore, he serves as the President of the Mozaretum Argentino (a non-profit entity internationally recognized for the promotion of classical music in Argentina) and holds the honorary title of Consul of the Principality of Monaco in the Argentine Republic.
