Position

Kate Storey joined Walkers' Guernsey office in 2018, where she is a partner in the Investment Funds and Corporate Group. Kate specialises in investment fund structuring and finance, equity fundraising and listings, mergers and acquisitions and group reorganisations. She is also a prominent Guernsey insurance expert, having advised on the Guernsey legal aspects for most of the pension scheme longevity swaps which have executed in Guernsey, as well as major insurance linked securities transactions.

Career

Kate practised as a commercial solicitor in the UK before moving to Guernsey in 2007. Prior to joining Walkers she was a partner at another major Guernsey law firm.

Goldman Sachs instructed the team to oversee its €50m facility and associated security to MyLender, a Finnish online consumer lending company, and Bank of Nova Scotia appointed ‘very engaged and hands-on’ practice head Matthew Sanders to handle the refinancing of a Canadian mining company with the support of ‘responsive and capable’ senior counsel Kim Paiva. Sam Shires regularly assists clients with credit facilities and refinancing transactions in the real estate and aviation spaces with the support of senior counsel Stephen Ozanne, who is particularly strong with regard to fintech.
