Position

Zoë Hallam is a Group Partner* in the Banking & Finance team in Walkers’ Guernsey office, having previously spent eight years in the firm’s Cayman office. She is recognised by Legal 500 as a Next Generation Partner.

Zoë advises on a broad range of finance-related matters, with a specialised focus on Fund Finance, Real Estate Finance and Islamic Finance transactions. In the Fund Finance sector she has advised both borrowers and lender on subscription facilities, NAV facilities and GP financing and her clients include leading international banks, alternative lenders and fund managers.

Career

Prior to joining Walkers in May 2011 Zoe trained and qualified with Salans (now Dentons) in London and Moscow, advising on a broad range of domestic and cross-border financing and restructuring deals, focusing on real estate and project financings.

Walkers‘ cross-Channel Island banking and finance practice offers support to lenders and borrowers involved in real estate and asset financing, with a wealth of experience advising on transactions concerning aircraft. Fund financing is a further area of expertise, with practice co-head Zoë Hallam advising lenders on NAV and hybrid facilities. Hallam’s counterpart Kim Paiva is noted for her real estate, acquisition and asset financing practice. Senior counsel Alex Wickens advises on real estate deals, with special expertise in deals which require Islamic finance structures. The arrivals of associates Tiny Musesengwa, from a trust company, and Kgotso Matjila, from Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr, in April and August 2022, respectively, has further added to the team’s strengths.
