Career

Amanda Athayde is a counsel at Pinheiro Neto Advogados, and practices in Competition Law, Compliance, and International Trade. She has authored and organized books, as well as a number of academic articles and book chapters on Business Law, Competition Law, International Trade, Compliance, Leniency Agreements, Trade Remedies and Public Interest, and Anticorruption.

From 2019 to April 2022, she served as Head of Trade Remedies and Public Interest (SDCOM) at the Foreign Trade Office (SECEX) of the Ministry of Economy. Between 2017 and 2019, she was assigned to serve as Chief of Staff for the Public Prosecutor’s Office (MPF) at the Brazilian Antitrust Authority, the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE). From 2013 to 2017, she served as Chief of Staff for CADE’s General Superintendence, and as Head of the Antitrust Leniency Program. As a foreign trade analyst at the Ministry of Development, Industry and Trade (MDIC), she participated in 2013 in the initial phase of negotiations over international cooperation and facilitation investment agreements (ACFIs).

Amanda is a Professor of Law at the University of Brasília (UnB). She is the creator and interviewer of the podcast Direito Empresarial Café com Leite, co-founder of the network Women in Antitrust (WIA), and member of the network Women Inside Trade (WIT).
