Career

Kerri Durso is counsel in Derivatives & Structured Products practice.

Ms. Durso has extensive experience representing buy-side, sell-side, derivatives clearinghouses and other end-user market participants in the structuring and documentation of complex over-the-counter and exchange-traded derivatives transactions, as well as negotiating triparty arrangements, segregating collateral.  She has assisted clients in the negotiation and documentation of OTC derivative transactions across all asset classes. Ms. Durso also advises on investment management matters, including the representation of U.S. and non-U.S. investment advisory firms and investment funds.  She regularly advises market participants with respect to commodities and other regulatory issues related to derivatives and other financial products, including implementation of the Dodd-Frank Act and other regulatory reforms.

In the firm’s New York office, the team at A&O Shearman acts for financial institutions on swap dealer registration and compliance issues concerning regulatory reform in the derivatives arena. Other key areas of expertise include cryptocurrency and digital assets, in addition to advising derivative trade associations on emissions allowance trading, voluntary carbon credits and collateral management. David Lucking heads the global international capital markets group and is noted for his experience across a range of derivatives and structured finance transactions, in addition to handling matters concerning the ISDA. Senior associate James Bryson, whose practice encompasses both transactional and regulatory mandates, is another key contact in the group, while Deborah North left the firm in November 2022. Following the merger of Allen & Overy and Shearman & Sterling,the team also includes several other key names. Donna Parisi, who assists clients with the development and structuring of new financial products, in addition to over-the-counter derivatives transactions across the full spectrum of asset classes.
