Career

After graduating with a PhD in Law and working as an university assistant at the Civil Law Institute of the University of Vienna, Wolfgang Berger was admitted to the Bar in 1991. With a history of working in renowned commercial law firms, he was appointed judge of the Supreme Administrative Court in 2001. In 2008 he became a Partner of Haslinger / Nagele. He has substantial experience in all areas of administrative and constitutional law, with a particular focus on environmental and regulatory issues including environmental impact assessment, waste management, nature conservation, compliance with EU regulatory requirements, natural resources (water, gas, mining), energy including renewables, zoning and construction, infrastructure, trade and administrative criminal law. Wolfgang Berger also advises on a broad range of civil law matters.

He provides training and lectures on administrative and environmental law for students at various Austrian universities as well as for clients and professional bodies. He writes and speaks frequently on environmental and regulatory matters at national and international conferences and is a member of the editorial board of the Austrian Journal of the Administrative Judiciary (ZVG) and the Environmental Law Journal (RdU).
