Career

Jason is a member of the Baker Botts Energy Litigation practice group and represents clients in multiple areas of the oil and gas sector.

Jason attended Hardin-Simmons University and received his law degree from South Texas College of Law. He has practiced energy litigation at Baker Botts for his entire career, and specializes in the many novel legal issues facing the oil and gas industry with the advent of horizontal drilling. Jason was recognized by the National Law Journal as an “Energy Trailblazer.”

Jason participates in the Oil and Gas Division of the State Bar of Texas and serves on the advisory board for the Institute of Energy Law.

Personal

Jason grew up ranching near Andrews, Texas and moved to Houston in 2002 for law school. He received the Outstanding Young Alumni Award from Hardin-Simmons University in 2015. He loves spending time with his wife, Jamie, and their three boys and playing the guitar.

Jason has published multiple articles on energy law, and regularly speaks on energy topics. His articles have been cited by Texas appellate courts.
