Career
Timothy C. Blank was the managing partner of Dechert’s Boston office for 14 years. He is a litigation partner on the trial team and represents financial services, software, pharmaceutical, technology and biotechnology companies in complex federal and state court litigation, including consumer and securities class actions and patent, copyright, trade secret, non-compete, and contract cases.
Mr. Blank is also the former co-chair of Dechert’s privacy & cybersecurity practice, and he advises financial services firms, including asset managers, administrators, transfer agents, custodians and advisors, on all aspects of data privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance. He works closely with clients in all industry sectors to design appropriate privacy policies and written information security programs. He advises on data breach responses, breach investigation, breach mitigation and breach reporting. He has also represented companies in government investigations into large scale data breaches, and handled litigations involving significant theft or loss of personal information. Mr. Blank also works closely with financial services firms to navigate the risks involved with acquiring and using big data sets in their investment strategies.

Charlotte-stationed associate Hilary Bonaccorsi is a key contact for financial institutions and registered investment advisors on the SEC’s privacy regulations. Bonaccorsi also focuses on developing compliance programs related to the development and purchase of alternative data sets and web scrapping risks. Former co-chair Karen Neuman has retired.
