Position

Pooja is a senior associate at Dentons. She is a member of the CorporatePublic Policy and Public International groups. 

 

Pooja’s focus is on public policy, regulation and international law, particularly disputes involving authorities and States. She represents corporate clients and victims of gross human rights violations worldwide as well as any other matters pertaining to public international law. In addition, Pooja is also involved in litigation matters on constitutional and environmental law. She also handles files in respect to media and entertainment law. Pooja conducts legal research, analyses legal issues and decisions, identifies relevant laws and judicial decisions, recommends the legal position to be endorsed, produces legal opinions and advises different strategies to be adopted, assists in the drafts of legal pleadings, complaints, memorandums and briefs as well as in the lodging of complaints and/or proceedings before the competent forums both at the local and international levels. 

 

She has significant experience working with international and regional organizations such as the Inter Regional Coordinating Committee, Common Market for the Eastern and Southern Africa, and Indian Ocean Commission on international legal issues. Her cases involve high stakeholders and inevitably entail discussions/negotiations with senior officials.  She advocates the use of international law to restore peace and justice.
