Career

Matías has extensive experience in corporate matters, with an emphasis on international transactions in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and project financing. In mergers and acquisitions, he has represented local, foreign and multinational clients in the purchase and / or sale of companies and assets of different classes, as well as in the corporate reorganization of their corporate structures.

Previously, he worked as a foreign associate in the New York offices of the Shearman & Sterling LLP (2009-2010), focusing on the Capital Markets practice. He was also a partner of Morales & Besa (2012-2019).

The former Honorato | Delaveau reorganised as ‘HD’ in March 2023, the new platform now housing sister entities HD Compliance and HD Systems as well as core legal division, HD Legal. The firm’s corporate practice handles general corporate matters, M&A, shareholder agreements, and corporate governance, and is also experienced in company reorganisations, divisions, dissolutions and liquidations, along with joint ventures and due diligence processes. Gonzalo Delaveau consistently advises on corporate, financial and commercial matters, while Matias Langevin is an international M&A specialist. The practice is co-led by Sebastián Delpiano, an active participant within the Chilean Fintech Association’s legal committee, who advises funds that undertake VC investments; and international capital markets expert Matías Langevin.
