Career

Mario is a partner at Consortium Legal – Costa Rica. With 30 years of experience in the banking sector. He has an extensive experience in the commercial, banking and financial practice areas, especially in the acquisition of banking and financial institutions, leading integration and merger processes, and having a wide knowledge in related regulatory matters. During his career, he has participated in the designing and documentation processes of cross-border financing operations in Central America, representing banks and other international and multilateral financial institutions in both local and multi-jurisdictional transactions, with different guarantee structures. He has participated in the design and documentation of private equity funds for the development and acquisition of projects, as well as advising regulated entities such as investment funds, stock exchanges and insurance companies in their business operations and relationship with their supervisors. He has also participated in the securitization of assets, as well as in the issuance of bonds and shares.

He has been a member of Boards of Directors of private banks and insurance companies.
