Position

James is a partner of Maples and Calder’s Finance team in the Maples Group’s Singapore office. He has extensive experience of international capital markets and finance transactions in Asia, Europe and the Middle East. He advises on all aspects of structured finance, aircraft finance (including on- and off- balance sheet structures and aircraft portfolio securitisations), general banking, fund finance, Islamic finance and corporate transactions, including private equity co-investment platforms.  James is also a specialist in derivatives transactions (from synthetic CLOs to total return swaps), equity derivatives transactions (from pre-IPO financings to share backed financings) and advises leading financial institutions on complex netting and collateral structures for both conventional and Islamic derivatives. James has been an author for the LMA and a speaker for both ISDA and ASIFMA.

Career

James joined the Maples Group in 2014. He previously worked at Clifford Chance in London, Allen & Overy in London and Hong Kong and Morgan Stanley in Hong Kong.
