Career
As a senior partner in the firm’s insurance coverage practice, Walter offers clients more than 30 years of experience managing insurance-related issues, including program audits, policy manuscripting, counseling, litigation, arbitration, and expert witness testimony. He works with companies in a diverse range of industries, including financial services, consumer products, food and beverages, chemicals, real estate and municipalities. Additionally, Walter litigates insurance coverage and bad faith disputes around the nation, involving cyberinsurance and e-commerce issues, business interruption, product liability, construction defect, reinsurance matters, and other emerging claims. These matters involve a variety of insurance contracts, including cyberinsurance, professional liability, first party property, general liability insurance policies, and various reinsurance agreements.
Walter has had significant court wins on duty to defend and bad faith cases and testifies regularly as an expert witness on similar cases and on the reasonableness of underlying settlements. He is also a Fellow in the American College of Coverage Counsel and a Life Fellow in the American Bar Foundation.

Walter is a Fellow in the American College of Coverage Counsel and is admitted to practice before courts and arbitral bodies across the United States and abroad, including the United States Supreme Court, US Courts of Appeal for DC and the Second, Third, Fourth, Sixth, Seventh, Eighth and Eleventh Circuits, and US District Courts for the District of Columbia, Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia, Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, Southern District of New York, and Eastern District of North Carolina. He is a member of the Florida, Virginia and District of Columbia Bars.
